Approval & Accreditation

GITAM School of International Business was formerly known as GITAM Institute of Foreign Trade (GIFT). GIFT was established in the year 1997 in academic collaboration with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi (Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India). Subsequently, when GITAM has been declared as a deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, GIFT was brought within the ambit of GITAM University and declared as an autonomous School of Excellence in International Business in recognition of its academic leadership in International Business in the country. University Grants Commission (UGC), MHRD, New Delhi has granted independent recognition to GITAM School of International Business under GITAM University ambit, vide its letter No.: F.No. 6-23/96 (CPP-I) and all the programmes offered by the School have the approval of UGC. GITAM University is accredited with “A” Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), MHRD, New Delhi.
